What this format is
Sport changer: a gravel ride saved as a run, or an indoor trainer tagged generic. This only changes the labels Garmin and Strava read.
How to get the file
- From Garmin Connect
- 1. Export original FIT, change sport, import.
- From Strava
- 1. Sport on Strava may still follow their own detector.
What is kept and what is lost

What actually changes?
Session sport and sub-sport. Records, GPS and sensors stay.
Will Strava honour it?
Sometimes. Strava may still classify from their own detector. Garmin Connect usually reads the tag.
Indoor trainer files?
Set sport to cycling and sub-sport to virtual or indoor as you prefer. The track is unchanged.
