Questions

What is in the JSON?

Manufacturer, sport, duration, record count, HR/power range, and a sample of points. Enough to see why a file will not import.

Is this a full dump?

No. Developer fields and lap-by-lap tables are not dumped. Open the summary in a text editor.

Does inspect change the FIT?

No. You only download JSON.
